Our Team

Robert Milling & Lynn Berthiaume - Innkeepers

Bob and Lynn are long time residents of the area and the proud parents of Gabriel and Luc, both in their early teens. Lynn, originally from Ottawa, and Bob, an import from the remote northwestern Ontario town of Sioux Lookout, began the rebirth of the Wakefield Mill from an abandoned, vacant site in 1997. Four years, and a lifetime of learning later, Bob and Lynn opened the Mill and as newly-minted “innkeepers”, greeted their first guests on May 4, 2001.

Stéphane Briand – Spa Manager

Born and raised in Wakefield, Stéphane began working in the restaurant business at the age of 20 while completing the Hotel and Restaurant Management course at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Stéphane started at the Wakefield Mill Inn shortly after its opening in 2001 and has been an integral player at the Inn ever since. Stéphane is integral to the Mill team and throughout the years, has taken on many roles, including Guest Services Manager and Director of Operations, and today he manages the Mills’ very successful Spa. In May 2006, François earned his diploma of Hospitality Management from l’Institut de Tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec. In the years that followed, François acquired his experience in large city hotels including the Delta Centre-Ville, the Montréal Marriott Château Champlain, and the Ritz Carlton in Central Park New York City. François joined the Mill team in June 2010 as Director of Guest Services embracing the opportunities and challenges that come with delivering outstanding service in a country Inn. Extension 110

Anthony Mason - Maître d'hôtel

Anthony Mason comes to the Mill with more than nineteen years' experience in the hospitality industry, most recently with Chateau Vaudreil Hotel & Suites where he served as Maitre D' of Banqueting and before that, as Director of Sales and Assistant Food and Beverage Director. Previously, he worked as Restaurant Manager at Restaurant Rube Excellence in Rigaud and as Food and Beverage Director at Golf St-Raphaël in L'Île Bizard. When it comes to organizing the complexities of the busy hospitality environment, Anthony is most at home – conferring with guests, planning with organizers, meeting suppliers and briefing staff – ensuring that no detail is too small or unimportant for the success of the venture. He is a hands-on team leader who encourages pride and excellence in the workplace and in transcending the customer experience. We are most fortunate to have Anthony on our team. Extension 125.

Linda Pearson – Head housekeeper

Linda Pearson is the Gouvernante at the Wakefield Mill. She moved to Wakefield in 1974, when her parents bought the Chateau Pearson Hotel, known today as the infamous Black Sheep Inn. Linda has worked in the industry ever since and has been with the Mill from the beginning in 2001. She is very proud to be a part of such a great team. Linda’s eye for detail is second to none and it is because of this and her team’s dedication that they receive such positive feedback from guests about the impeccable state and comfort of the hotel.
