Rooms

  1. What type of rooms do you have?
    We have six different room types: Loft rooms, Gatineau Park rooms, Waterfalls rooms, Waterfalls Upgrade rooms, River Rooms and Rivergrand rooms.
  2. What are your rates and packages?
    We have many different packages that range from room and breakfast to room, dinner, breakfast, and spa treatments. You are invited to see our packages or call us directly.
  3. Do you offer connecting rooms?
    Four of our rooms are connecting, in sets of two.
  4. Do you provide rollaway beds in the room?
    We do provide rollaways and cots to a maximum of one per room at no extra cost.
  5. How many people per room is allowed and is there an extra cost for children?
    The maximum number of people per room is four. However, we should note that all of our rooms have only one bed, which means that you can only actually fit three people per room. Any children would be a charge of $20 extra, plus the package.
  6. Do you provide room service or a mini bar?
    For room service, you only have to ask our dining room staff and they will be happy to deliver a delicious meal to your room. As for the mini bar, there is a basket with snacks and water in the room that our guests can use for an additional cost.

Dining

  1. What dining options are there at the hotel?
    We have two dining options: The Dining Room, which features fine dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and the Heron Room and bar lounge, which offers tapas and small plates for afternoon and evening fare.
  2. Are meals included in some of your packages?
    Many of our featured offerings such as our nightly Table d’Hôte Menu and our Discovery Menu are offered in many of our packages. All of our night stays include our à la carte and buffet breakfast. Many of our spa packages include different dining options. Please see Our Packages for more details.
  3. Do you have Sunday Brunch?
    Yes, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the Wakefield Mill hosts a brunch every Sunday in our dining room. Featuring a large selection of breakfast and lunch items, assorted pastries, meats, cheeses, fruits, desserts, salad, and Chef-hosted carving and omelet stations, there is something for every taste. Reservations are recommended.
  4. How do I make a reservation?
    Reservations are always recommended for our dining room and can be made by calling the hotel (819-459-1838). The Heron Room does not require reservations, but it is sometimes booked for private functions. The bar lounge requires no reservations and is always available.
  5. What is the Discovery Menu?
    The Discovery is an eight-course Blind Tasting Menu that is created and prepared by our Executive Chef Romain Riva on a nightly basis. After we discover your likes and dislikes, your work is over. Our culinary team will then happily match wines with each course and bring you our chef’s inspired dishes of the evening.

Spa

  1. What type of spa treatments do you offer?
    We offer a full range of massages, as well as facial therapies, body treatments, scenic pedicures and manicures.
  2. How do I book spa treatments?
    You can book spa treatments by calling our reception team anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., seven days a week. You can also email us at info@wakefieldmill.com.
  3. What types of products do you use?
    We use Phytomer products, a complete skin and body care line from France carried in the most prestigious spas internationally.
  4. Do you take group bookings?
    Yes. Our spa features five treatment rooms, a spacious relaxation area, outdoor terraces and a hot tub – perfect for a small group of ladies looking to escape. As of July 1, 2011, we will also have the Miller’s House, a beautifully renovated area for you and your girlfriends to unwind and relax privately while enjoying mini-treatments.
  5. Can I get a receipt for my massage?
    Yes. All of our massage therapists are registered massage therapists and can issue receipts.
  6. Do you offer couples massages?
    Yes. We have a couple’s massage room as a well as a couple’s massage exterior tent. This particular offering is called the “Dream Weaver” massage and it is available from May 15 to October 15.
  7. Do you offer therapeutic massages?
    No, but we do offer relaxing massages and our massage therapists will do their best to cater to your needs.

Meetings and Events

  1. What are the conference/meeting facilities?
    The Wakefield Mill Inn and Spa offers four meeting/function rooms ranging in size from 391 to 1600 sq.ft. All function rooms are air-conditioned and have comfortable seating as well as multi-use lighting options. From July 2011, the Inn will have an exquisite meeting room as part of our new expansion.
  2. Do you offer overnight meeting packages?
    Yes. From $254 per person (Monday to Friday), the Wakefield Mill Inn and Spa’s Executive Overnight Conference Package includes one night’s accommodation, table d’hôte dinner, full country breakfast, lunch, two coffee/tea breaks, wireless Internet access, and free parking (Meeting room rental, gratuities, and taxes not included).
  3. Do you offer day meeting packages?
    Yes. For $48 our day package includes full country breakfast, two coffee breaks, lunch, flipchart and markers, wireless Internet access, and free parking (Meeting room rental, gratuities, and taxes not included).
  4. What business services are available at the hotel?
    Available in all meeting rooms free of charge: wireless high-speed Internet, flipchart and/or whiteboard, projector screen (if needed), and extension cords (if needed).

    Additional meeting support services include: computer and printer access, photocopying, fax, courier and postal services, translation, word processing, and simultaneous interpretation.
  5. Do you host wedding groups and other special occasions?
    Yes. The Wakefield Mill Inn and Spa offers a range of banquet facilities perfect for your celebration, whether it is an intimate birthday dinner with family, a special anniversary dinner, a corporate banquet, or a spectacular wedding for up to 140 guests.

  2. What payment options are available for hotel guests?
    We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, cash, debit, and gift certificates from our Inn, the Hôtellerie Champêtre, and Ontario’s Finest Inns network.
  3. What is your cancellation policy?
    Our cancellation policy is 14 days prior to the date of arrival. A 50% deposit will be taken upon making the reservation, if the 14-day policy is respected we will refund the deposit.
  4. What are the check in and check out times?
    Check in time is 4:00 p.m. and check out is 12:00 p.m.

  1. Where is the Wakefield Mill Inn and Spa located?
    The Mill is located in the town of Wakefield, Quebec, next to Gatineau Park about 25 minutes from Ottawa and two hours, 30 minutes from Montréal.
  2. Does the hotel have laundry facilities?
    No.
  3. Does the hotel have multilingual staff?
    Our staff is ready to serve guests in English or French.
  4. Does the hotel have a pool or hot tub?
    All of our guests have access to our outdoor hot tub. During the summer, we also offer a natural river pond that is filled with fresh water from the waterfall.

    The Inn provides our guests with an assortment of activities. Beyond our spa, board games, and pool table, guests can enjoy rides on the Wakefield Steam Train, golf, biking, hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

  10. What car parking facilities are available?
    Parking is free and we have about 40 outside spaces available.
  11. What Internet options are available?
    The Inn is pleased to offer complimentary wireless Internet to all of our guests in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.
  12. Do you offer any gift certificates or packages and how do I purchase one?
    Gift certificates can be purchased from the Inn for a specific amount or for any of our packages. These can be redeemed at any of our outlets – rooms, restaurant or spa. These can be purchased online, over the phone, or in person at the Inn. We then send them out by mail the next day.
